Quantity Surveying career commenced in 1960.

Joined King Harding Partners as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in 1967. The firm merged with an international firm of Quantity Surveyors, to become King Harding and MDA International, and after 28 years, 18 of them as a Director, Brian joined Graeme Newton's firm and in 1996 they renamed to Newton Kerr & Partners.

Brian has been responsible for complete Cost Management Services from feasibility studies through all stages of cost planning to documentation, negotiation and contract administration, on many major projects throughout Australia.

Brian is a past President of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Victorian Chapter and held the office of Treasurer and Councillor in the Victorian Chapter of the Institute for 12 years.
